The laundry represents those essential household tasks that we all have to do, but wish we had already finished. JASPER designers appreciate that laundries are often small spaces and the best cabinetry design increases efficiency and storage options and makes the jobs so much easier. Here are some laundry tips open you mind to the possibilities:

LAUNDRY TIPS FOR GOOD DESIGN

The Laundry Itself:

  • Think about how you use the laundry. As well as washing, do you iron or sort washing in the laundry?
  • What type of washing machine and dryer are to be incorporated in the cabinetry design? Naturally, the way you access your machine’s loader will dictate how you can arrange them.
  • Laundry cabinets should be made of high moisture resistant board. They’ll last longer, and will happily support the strain of countless heavy loads of washing.

Extra Considerations:

  • Do you have a second fridge or a chest freezer in the laundry? Not only will you need the space and perhaps access to a second power outlet, you must also account for transporting goods to and from your white goods.
  • What other appliances, such as vacuum cleaners and other items do you need to store? Do you have future expansion in mind? Optimize your available space so that everything you need is always at arm’s length.
  • Is there a manhole in the roof of the laundry that needs the cabinetry to allow space for access? Always take care to encompass critical access, especially in smaller spaces like laundries.
  • Door and bench top finishes in custom cabinetry can be selected from the wide range of materials  and colours available. Whether it’s about making a statement, matching with existing decor or a more fuss-free aesthetic, there’s a finish perfect for you.
